- Girls coming to Mr. Early’s English class reeking of Ambush after gym class. (There were no ACs or showers.)
- CSMC (Catholic Students Mission Crusade) visits to senior citizens homes. They seemed so old that we couldn’t imagine ever being even close to their age.
- Squirming in our seats as Coach Lavelle roamed the aisles in Geometry, terrified he’d call on us.
- Father Kelly’s stories of his friendship with celebrities like the Globetrotters’ Meadowlark Lemon.
- The high conduct standards Father Kelly imposed, especially on the boys.
- Father Newell’s Latin class. SCARY!
- Playing pick-up basketball with Father Kelly and getting hit with some terrific rib shots when one tried to dribble around him.
- On the senior trip around the pool, noticing the women who were watching Father Kelly as he stood to look for those of us on the beach.
- Also on the senior trip, George Garmendia sweating bullets worrying if Father Kelly would find out that he had some of the boys yelling out some pretty colorful words all up and down Biscayne Blvd. that George had translated into Spanish.
- The basketball team playing for the lower state championship.
- Station 22 at the Rocks on Sullivan's Island.
- Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts and Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs at Old Side and Art’s Seaside.
- Retreat at Camp St Mary's led by Father Bernier.
- Wrap-around skirts, Weejuns, Gant shirts, and charm bracelets.
- 15-cent hamburgers during our half-hour senior lunch trips to Hardee’s.
- The Battling Bishops’ 10-1 record that took us to the lower state football championship.
- Senior week at the beach - Who was good and who was naughty? Only you really know!
- Marriage Prep class with angelic-looking Father Gorski, whose face got redder and redder the more questions we asked.
- Girls getting around the dress code by rolling up their uniform skirts above their knees and hoping not to have to encounter a skirt-length check by Sister Margaretta (remember her rosy cheeks and beaming smile?).
- Post-game sundaes at the Holly House and their yummy fudge-ripple ice cream.
- Sister Amelia's Spanish class!
- Stopping at 7-Eleven to get Dixie Cups and Bali Hai wine to take to the Magnolia drive-in on Highway 17.
- Sock hops and proms where the real “beach music” of the Tams, Drifters, and Temptations played along with edgier songs like “House of the Rising Sun” and “Louie, Louie.”
- The senior class trip to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale -- We saw Tennessee lose to Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl.
- Dances at the Knights of Columbus hall.
